<p>The editorial on casinos could not have been more on target. Jamaica&#8217;s tourism industry should be 10 times larger than it is and the Government should be doing everything in its power to help it grow. What are we waiting for?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yesterday&#8217;s <a href="http://www.jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20081116/cleisure/cleisure1.html" target="_blank">pro-casino editorial in the Gleaner newspaper</a> elicited an almost immediate response from one &#8220;P. Gordon&#8221;, decried the tone of the editorial and asks that the Gleaner advocate for casino gambling without scoffing at persons who would not wish to see this development in Jamaica.</p>
<p>Gordon also adopts a somewhat cynical tone, as he encourages the newspaper to follow its own logic and and equally advocate for a change in the law to facilitate legal brothels &#8211; since this would, no doubt, help to diversify the tourism product and increase the earning capacity of large numbers of Jamaicans (as is suggested regarding legal casinos in Jamaica).</p>
